North India Trip - Jodhpur

after Jaisalmer, we went back to Jodhpur by train. Jodhpur, the oh-so-romantic blue city in India. should consider going there for honeymoon.

imagine you're gonna tell your friends, "hey! i'm going for honeymoon"
and they will ask, "where?! paris?! hawaii?! New zealand?!"
"na... India..."
"what?! might as well go readang..."

but trust me! it's one of the most romantic city in the world.

we arrived Jodhpur very late. thank God the motel that we went still served dinner when we reached there at around 12am.

since it was THAT late, they simply cooked the rice, fried it with the leftover fruits they had and served it.

na... this was actually in the menu. it's called Kashmiri Pulao.

i was the first one who ordered it since i (everybody) was having consipation, so when the boss introduced that fruit fried rice thingie, i thought it was a good idea to have some fruits together with rice. it turned out to be very berry nice, so they ordered two more.

everybody was dead tired. and finally, after so many cacated bathroom that we'd encountered throughout the trip, we had a proper looking bathroom to use in the new motel that we went.

the next morning, we started to plan our trip. and all thanks to Elizabeth Hurley, we were restricted to visit every corner of Jodhpur. since she needed to use the palace, the fort and even the musuem for her wedding for three days, everything was closed down for her! terrible!

so we decided to eat omelette the whole day to protest!

this is the o-so-famous-must-eat-because-it-is-highly-recomended shop that we had 24 omelettes altogether. around five eggs per person.

still Eliz Hurley was getting married happily in the palace. so we decided to sit at the stall and browse through all the guestbook that is there.

and we spotted this:
drawn by batch 17 steven and gang.
and so, we also decided to draw one for ourselves.
it turn out to be...

cute! i suppose.
not gonna show it here.

this is the egg uncle who had been selling omelette for 35 years.

basically they serve is, yes, eggs. they come with bread and different flavours like cheese, butter cheese, masala and so on. since we were protesting as i said, we almost tried all the flavours available.

and since eating eggs couldn't stop Eliz Hurley from getting married, we decided to drown ourselves with the o-so-famous-must-drink-because-it-is-highly-recomended lassi (yogurt) which is a stone throw away from the egg shop.

on the way to that shop, i saw this and "OMG! if the cow attack me with that horn, i'd be in London in no time"

here is the lassi. too sweet and too thick. still prefer nandini sweet lassi, or maybe vitagen.

after sweet lassi, we walked around the street, kill our time since Eliz Hurley closed up ALL the tourist attractions. we wanted to go up to the fort badly because it's duper nice seeing the whole of blue city from the fort.

the o-so-majestic fort. Mehrangarh Fort

thanks to options. we were able to find another place to look at the city. it was the lousy palace known as Jaswant Thada that Eliz Hurley spared for us.

awesome view from above. that's the Umaid Bhawan Palace (far left) where Eliz was having her wedding ceremony there at that moment. and that's the palace that we wanted to visit.

not this:

and not this too:

but we could see the blue city view which was really awesome. every thing was blue, including my shirt.

little chipmunk

guess what are these cows doing in the middle of the road?!

after an unproductive day, we went back to our motel, took some sad pictures and left Jodhpur the next morning.

that's the fort behind us.

wish to go back one day. hope there won't be any wedding ceremony going on when i go back. or maybe i can hold my wedding ceremony there? who knows.

coming up next is the Pink City, Jaipur.

nice number

after much thinking, they decided to deduct three marks from my Forensic Medicine. never go check why.

that makes my result 75, 76, 77 and 78. consider 4D's (distinctions)

should ask my mom to jumble up all these numbers and head to the nearest Magnum 4D shop and try out her luck. who knows if she gets the first prize, it'll be far more better than me getting JPA.

nonsense!

all glory to God for the results i got. God is good all the time!

shall stop looking back at block one and start to work harder for block two!

with God, all things are possible!

sacrifice

another report from The Star newspaper few weeks back

Mother’s sacrifices rewarded

By DERRICK VINESH

PENANG: Supporting a child in a private medical college can be a costly affair. The burden is even heavier for a single parent.

Kolej Tunku Abdul Rahman's Centre for Continuing Professional Education director Leong Eng Yee exhausted her life savings to fulfil her daughter Judith Wong Ju-Ming's dream to pursue medicine.

“When Judith was four years old, my husband died from cancer. He left us some money, but I still had to work to make ends meet.

“I made lots of sacrifices. Among them was to continue driving the same old car for 15 years. But it was worth the effort.

“Now, I hope that she (Judith) will help take care of me when I grow old,” said Leong after Judith received her scroll at a Penang Medical College's ceremony at a hotel here yesterday.
Leong said she also sponsored the studies of her other daughter Adele, 36, and son Kenneth, 26, who pursued their higher education in Britain and Australia respectively.

Judith, 24, was among 92 students who completed their final examinations and were conferred medical degrees from the National University of Ireland.

They spent their first year in Penang and the next two-and-a-half years at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) or University College Dublin (UCD) for pre-clinical studies.
They returned to Penang for their final two-and-a-half years of clinical studies.
Judith said the course fees and living expenses for the six-year programme totalled RM500,000.

“Basically, I was looking for a profession that I would not feel bored with after 20 years of practising.

“To me, medicine was the most interesting and exciting course to do.

“Words cannot describe my gratitude to my mum for the many sacrifices she has made to raise my two siblings and me and to see us all through college,” she said.
Judith, who was the student valedictorian, also received the UCD-RCSI overall best student award and the Malaysian Medical Association (Penang branch) prize for best student in Medicine.

i came across this article the other day and it looks really familiar to me.
not the girl, but the situation.

it's almost the same situation how my mom alone getting me into a private medical college
*she should have put me in PenangMedicalCollege to make it sound more alike... hehehe!

if there's one reason why i want to do well in my studies, that would be for my mom.

still remember how mom brought both of us (my and fred) up, giving us the top most priority, making sure that there's food in front of the TV (we don't eat on the dining table. like what Vincent would say, KL PEOPLE!!!), making sure that there's a shelter and a comfy bed for us to sleep at night, making sure that all the bills are paid on time, making sure that we get a full education of our choice

some extra points: making sure that Flippy is clean, well-fed and do her poo poo every morning, making sure that i'm not nervous during public speaking competition, making sure that we have enough junks to eat, making sure that i eat the nasi lemak she bought for me for breakfast after i wakes up in the afternoon, making sure that fred get a chance to go to aussie since i've been there once.

mom always tells us, "my ultimate purpose is to give you all a full education. and once you all can support yourselves, i'm done! and it's for you all to decide what to do"

hello, if sacrifice (big sacrifice i mean) is not the word for this, then what else?

sometime it's true to say that a single moms are very strong. she is one of them.

by the way, make it clear, my father is still around, don't misunderstand. it's complicated.

so people, love your parents, because they love you.

clinical skills

a report in The Star newspaper

KUALA LUMPUR: Remind doctors to keep their hands clean. That is what Health Ministry deputy director-general (medical) Datuk Dr Noorimi Morad wants nurses to do to ensure that patients do not get infected while in hospital.

"Nurses are better in complying than doctors. We have to persist in increasing awareness," she told The Star yesterday after opening the 3rd International Congress of the Asia-Pacific Society of Infection Control."

It is not that they do not want to do it, but they might forget when they are very busy. So, the nurses must be around to remind the doctors.

i wonder if it's too much to ask the lecturer to remind us to wash our hands during clinical skills exams... or maybe asisting us to perform the skills too...

not forgetting wiping away our cold sweat just like how a nurse wipe away the sweat on the forehead of the doctors.
