Tsun Jin High School

found this facts, FUN facts, about Tsun Jin High School from Wikipedia. there's where i learned my chinese-school-nurtured-with-limited-vocab-kinda-powderful-ah-beng-engLAND. read and you'll know why.

Tsun jin is a Chinese independent high school situated along Jalan Loke Yew in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It consists of A,B,C,D four buildings and an ‘English’ building meant for English language lessons only.
*yeah! they need the 'english' building badly.

Ground Floor
On the ground floor, there is:
• a double story library - It contains thousands of books and has mirrors that reflect the back of the shelves so that the head librarian (an old lady that prefers to be called ‘ah yi’ instead of ‘aunty’) will be able to see if any students decide to do anything inappropriate there.

*"ah yi" still means "aunty" in chinese. aunty is a taboo word!!!

• two badminton courts - they are situated on each side of the school hall therefore whoever inside the hall will be able to hear every cheer that is made out on the courts.
*i suppose the player is not gonna cheer when they play ON the courts. and why on earth that the whoever inside the hall wants to listen to the cheers while listening to lectures (scroll down to refer to the "air conditioned hall")

• a small car park - these car park spaces are usually used by parents who pick up their children after school who somehow think that getting out of the car will solve traffic problems.
*yeah! KL people solving traffic problems

• an air-conditioned hall - as said above, it is in between the two badminton courts. Concerts and any form of lectures are usually held there.

• a few extra rooms - these extra rooms are provided for societies that need space for their inventory. E.g. the boy scout and girl guide society, the dance society and so on.
*can i have some extra rooms for my house too?!

• a music room - the music room is usually occupied by the choir society. During school hours, the teacher uses it to hold music classes.

• a canteen - the canteen is the busiest place during break. Every student wants to buy at least something from either one of the two stalls in the canteen. The canteen closer to the Car park is generally considered cheaper than the other stall.
* student say: "eh! wait me awhile ar! i wanna buy at least something from the canteen!"

The first floor basically includes the staff room, the different departments and classrooms. The second, third only consists of classrooms whereas the fourth/last floor consists of more classrooms and two computer rooms.
*just ask for more! more classrooms! more classrooms!! i want more!!!

If you go down the slope on the right of the school gate, you would come to a 240m running track, a small field and two basketball courts which if we put a net up can become a volleyball court.
*if we put a net? fish net?! basketball net?! badminton net?!

As you can see, the school is a rather large school and has approximately 450 new students per year. (50students x classes) since the school has 6 years, the student population is approximately 2700+/-.

Academically, this school is excellent and has maintained that excellence for many years now. Aside from studying (which by the way, the school takes very seriously) Tsun Jin excels in many ways as well. Take sports for example; basketball teams have won many championships for the past few years, and the seniors have broken the country’s records over and over again. The choir society has won many awards including best piano accompaniment in the country, best male vocalist in the country and so on. Another one of the few incredible societies are the Tsun Jin High School Boy Scouts and Girl Guides. They have been to campfires every chance they get and of all the very few times they have been able to make it, they have come home with excellent results and the trophies to prove it. They were considered one of the best boy scout and girl guides troop ever seen.
*"show me the tropies!!!"

Tsun Jin High School has more than a hundred societies including the drama club, Chinese society, debate team and many, many more.

The time table for this school is fixed. Every other Monday, we will have an assembly while each morning during administration period, different years will take turns to do their morning exercises followed by a speech session where every class representative will deliver a speech in that particular week’s language. During school hours, every period is 40 minutes long and there will be a ten minute break after every two lessons. There will be two longer breaks, once at 9.20 in the morning for twenty minutes and the other at 12.30 in the afternoon for forty minutes. Unlike many other schools, this school has cleaner toilets and two on each floor. It even provides toilet rolls.

As this is a typical Chinese independent school where their first priority is discipline, the student’s natural instincts have been honed to tuck in their shirts, tidy their hair etc. when they see a teacher.

Until this year, (2007) Tsun Jin has been established for 52 years. it’s future is bright and the student population is increasing.
